
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to increase the number of students who graduate from high school, enroll in, and complete postsecondary attainment.
Regarding COVID-19: Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, Upward Bound has become completely virtual. Students are able to access Summer Academy, tutoring, and 1-on-1 academic/college advising through virtual platforms. Students and families can stay up-to-date on the Upward Bound Program by liking the Facebook Page and following our Instagram account. Connect with Upward Bound staff and receive text updates by subscribing to our Remind announcements using the directions below.

El Centro de Colegio Conexión- Upward Bound strives to provide support for potential first-generation college and/or low-income students with academic, cultural, and personal support. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
Program Eligibility:
- Must be a 9th-12th grade student
- Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be a potential First-Generation College Student (neither parent has a 4-year degree) and/or meet the Federal Low-Income Levels
- Must possess a commitment to pursue post-secondary education
What We Offer
Students are offered the following supplemental opportunities:
- Free tutoring for all subject areas
- 1-on-1 academic and career advising
- A paid stipend of up to $100 for active Upward Bound participation for each student
- Assistance in applying for federal financial aid & scholarships
- College examination preparation for TSI, ACT, and SAT including a library of test prep resources that can be checked out to students
- Personalized career exploration and 1-on-1 academic advising
- Field Trips to colleges in-state and out-of-state at no cost to students
- Internship opportunities
- Educational workshops and curriculum designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students and the students’ parents/guardians, including financial planning for secondary education.
- Assistance in completing financial aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students will learn about the full range of financial aid programs and benefits such as grants, loans, and scholarships
- Community service-learning opportunities
- Exposure to academic programs and cultural events through field trips and programming.
- Free assistance in applying to and enrolling in colleges and university
- Free Summer ACC Classes for Graduates
- The opportunity to join the Upward Bound- Student Leadership Council
